Postdoctoral fellow/Researcher position in translational research: Tankyrase inhibition
A 3-year postdoctoral researcher position is available at the Department of Immunology (IMM) at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet, led by group Leader Jo Waaler, head of the Cell Signaling and Drug Discovery research group at IMM: www.ous-research.no/waaler. The research group is also associated with the RCN Centre of Excellence (SFF) – Hybrid Technology Hub – Centre for Organ on a Chip-Technology: www.med.uio.no/hth/english.
This position focuses on the pharmacological inhibition of TNKS and its blockade of disease-promoting WNT and YAP cell signaling pathways. Our translational research aims to achieve two objectives: 1) understanding how TNKS inhibition enhances sensitivity to metastatic melanoma immunotherapy and exerts anti-fibrotic effects in lung fibrosis, and 2) advancing our preclinical drug candidate toward clinical trials, an effort supported by our newly initiated company, Odin Therapeutics.
The successful candidate will use immune-competent mouse models to study the synergistic effects of TNKS inhibition combined with immune checkpoint blockade in metastatic melanoma. Additionally, the candidate will employ cutting-edge technologies, including cell culture, patient samples, and animal models, to investigate TNKS inhibition in lung fibrosis. Applicants should have a strong background in immunology and experience with cell culture, animal models, and flow cytometry.
Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is crucial for solving our tasks in the best possible way. We want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions, and we encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of background, to apply!
