People & Culture Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a People & Culture Specialist to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting our employees and leaders. Reporting to the People & Culture Business Partner, this role provides proactive, front-line HR support across the organization.

As a People & Culture Specialist, you will be involved in the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management. You will also support the compensation review cycle, employee engagement initiatives, and other key P&C team projects.

Success in this role requires a proactive and adaptable mindset, the ability to think and act globally, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently is crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, as you will be a key point of contact for employees across the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive employee records within the HRIS system.

• Participate in the full cycle of recruitment and onboarding activities including preparing job descriptions for posting, scheduling interviews, drafting offer letters, and preparing for onboarding new hires, ensuring country-specific onboarding documentation is followed.

• Liaise with payroll to ensure smooth salary payments and employee changes are processed within designated timelines.

• Oversee employee check-ins and new hires' probationary reviews.

• Support P&C Business Partner in the annual performance evaluation process and compensation reviews in the first year, and be able to lead these initiatives in the upcoming years.

• Administer employee benefits, and process various employee changes.

• Ensure compliance with local employment laws and update policies as needed.

• Assist with employee engagement initiatives such as service anniversaries and recognition programs.

• Support training, development, and HR special projects.

• Prepare formal communications to employees.

• Assist with the development of policies and procedures.

• Assist with salary benchmarking and compensation surveys.

• Manage leave of absence claims and coordinate return-to-work plans.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.

• 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in the technology industry.

• Solid understanding of employment laws and HR policies in Europe.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire employees.

• High level of honesty, integrity, and ability to handle confidential data.

• Ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships across the organization

Proficient computer skills with MS Office.

• Demonstrated flexibility, openness to new ideas, and the ability to adapt to changes in work tasks, situations, and circumstances.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a positive can-do attitude.

• Able to prioritize complex workloads, manage time effectively, and deliver according to deadlines.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE, WORKING HOURS AND TRAVEL

Permanent full-time

The candidate should be willing to adjust their working hours to align with those of the team in Calgary, Canada, potentially necessitating some overlap. This could involve adjusting their schedule to accommodate time zone differences or coordinating with colleagues for collaborative work. Flexibility in working hours is key to ensure effective communication and collaboration across different locations.

Some travel will be required to our company office in Stavanger, Norway, as well as to the office in Germany.
