We are looking for two chefs for our kitchen team this upcoming winter season.

The chef we seek is reliable, honest, and friendly toward co-workers and guests, with a positive attitude and a professional approach.

The food is high-quality and locally based, so experience is needed, and you must be willing to learn new things.

The minimum experience for a chef must be two years or more.

Tasks

  • Cook food in hot, cold, and dessert station
  • Have control over food waste
  • Understand the rules for hygiene and HACCP (ik-mat) in the kitchen.
  • Be eager to learn new things
  • Be self-going and work well/smart under pressure.
  • Be a part of the team, planning, preparing, and serving.

The expectation for this winter:

you will serve around 100+ guests daily. All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for activities) at Malangen Resort are the only place to eat during our guest's stay.

We recommend our employees have a car since we are located 70 minutes from Tromsø. Accommodation and a grocery store are up to a 10-minute drive from the resort. We are willing to help you find accommodation.

Malangen Resort is one of Tromsø region's most modern and popular activity resort, located 1-hour drive from Tromsø. The resort has more than 300 beds and the accommodation is based on hotel rooms, apartments, and cabins.

We are a resort that is open all year round with different activities based on the season.

During the winter season, we offer our own northern light tours, Sami storytelling, snowshoeing, and dog sledding. During spring, summer, and fall we also provide mountain hiking, fishing trips, kayaking, and other fjord-based activities.

In addition, we host conferences, weddings, and other events for 10-200 persons throughout the year.

Our Restaurant «Marmælen Restaurant» is our heart. We serve high-quality, locally-based food. And our menu changes after the season. We serve food not only in the restaurant but also in other locations such as our outdoor camp and our wine cellar. A workday in Malangen Resort can vary every day.
