By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.

Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.
 

The Crane Operator`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:

  • Supervise his/her subordinates to best of his/her ability and to be an example to safe working behavior.
  • Perform duties according to relevant regulations as deck operator, signaler, slinger and rigger during lifting and rigging operations Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the deck and marine areas
  • Ensure that all required permits including, Guidelines, SJA, risk assessments, isolations etc. are in place before any jobs requiring any of these commences within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Supervise actively in all practical aspects of marine/deck related routines and planned maintenance.
  • Properly carry out all orders and instructions given by his/her superior.
  • Operate all cranes in a safe and proper way as designed, according to vendor’s instructions, legislation and CDE procedures.
  • Ensure that repairs and preventive maintenance are carried out as recommended on all cranes, safety equipment and other equipment in the Marine department, all deficiencies to be reported to appropriate supervisor according to CDE procedures.
  • Ensure that only marked, certified and suitable slings, wires, shackles, blocks and hooks are used and available for use for lifting purposes.

 

Suitable applicants should ideally have:

  • Passed a vocational training programme, preferably with spesialization in Mechanical / Hydraulic or Electrical vocational studies, alternatively within transport & logistics
  • Relevant experience
  • Fit to work offshore
  • Basic Safety Training – NOG
  • G5 Offshore Crane Operator Certificate
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Banksman & Slinger (O 1.1 og 2.3) 
  • Cargo in supply chain (Pakking og sikring av last iht OLF 116)
  • Dangerous Goods by air – IATA
  • Dangerous Goods by sea – IMDG 
  • Fork Lift Operator Certificate T 1 & T4
  • G20 Knuckle Boom Crane Cert.(Fastmontert hydraulisk kran)
  • G4 Overhead Crane Certificate (Traverskran)
  • Offshore Crane Simulator training refresher
  • Rigging course (O 2.2 + 3.2)
  • Socket wire course
  • Chemical Handling – basic knowledge
  • ISPS Designated Security Duties

COSL Drilling Europe was established in 2005, and has its head office located in Stavanger, Norway. Today we operate four modern drilling units. We have a solid owner with stable ratings in China Oilfield Services Limited, listed at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with ambitions to strengthen its foothold in the North Sea.

Our four semi-submersible drilling rigs were delivered from the yard respectively in November 2010 (COSLPioneer), November 2011 (COSLInnovator), May 2012 (COSLPromoter) and November 2014 (COSLProspector). The first drilling operations started in Norway in August 2011 and COSL Drilling Europe has since then been in continuous operation drilling and completing wells in Norway, UK, Faroe Islands and New Zealand.

The drilling units are of a similar design and have all proven strong and consistent performance deliveries.
