Development engineer – Health Management, Analytics & Fleet Operations

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team as Development Engineer. To support our predictive maintenance efforts, your role will be to develop and deliver analysis that are combining lifecycle data with operational data, and use your expert knowledge to interpret and explain the results to your colleagues.

The Maritime 4.0 era brings us to an age where ships are integrated into larger operations. Owners and operators will expect to have total awareness and control in this area to optimize asset utilization, and ultimately, their wider operations.

We are pushing the boundaries of ship technology by harnessing the power of data in order to deliver through life asset optimization. Our model to sense, acquire, transfer, analyze and act (SATAA) applies to both onboard and onshore elements.

We are building an infrastructure to acquire equipment data, create advanced predictive analytics, and use this data to predict equipment anomalies and remaining useful life of components, in order to schedule maintenance tasks accordingly.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Support the project with expertise in statistical models and machine learning.
  • Perform data analyses on time series data for marine equipment.
  • Develop applications on cloud-based Databricks / pyspark data pipelines.
  • Research, implement and build algorithms and solutions.
  • Provide knowledge and experience to interpret and explain the results of the analysis.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Qualified degree or relevant experience in data modeling, data analysis.
  • Experience with marine control system, equipment and applications.
  • Preferably some experience in using analytics packages such as MatLab, Python / Pyspark on Databricks, Spark/Hadoop libraries.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Cloud Computing and Big time-series Data visualization techniques or other related systems.
  • Fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
