Minimum Requirements:

• 1 season of experience in Tromsø: Applicants must have already worked at least one season in Tromsø and be familiar with the region and its unique challenges.

• 1 year of experience in a similar role: Experience in tourism management, guest services, or tour operations is essential.

• Knowledge of local regulations and laws: Candidates must have an understanding of driver licenses, local laws, and employment regulations that apply to the tourism industry in Norway.

• Problem evaluating skills: Candidates should be able to assess situations effectively and make informed decisions about whether an issue requires immediate action or if it can be addressed after the weekend.

Are you passionate about tourism and the Arctic wilderness?
Wandering Owl, a leading adventure tour company based in Tromsø, is looking for a Weekend Manager to oversee our weekend operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Weekend Tours and Guides: Ensure all tours run smoothly, guiding staff through the day's schedule, managing last-minute changes, and coordinating with tour guides to deliver a high-quality experience for our guests. In practice this includes briefing guiding team, checking the environmental conditions etc

• Customer Service and Guest Relations: Be the welcoming face of Wandering Owl, ensuring our guests are well cared for. Handle inquiries, manage any issues or special requests, and ensure guest satisfaction. This also includes handling cancellations.

• Logistics and Operations Management: Oversee the logistics of tours, including transportation, equipment, and bookings. Ensure everything runs on time, even in the face of weather-related challenges or unexpected issues.

• Problem-Solving and Emergency Response: Be the go-to person for resolving issues, whether it's an unexpected situation during a tour or managing weather-related changes to itineraries.

• Reporting: Provide end-of-day feedback and updates to the management team, track performance metrics, and offer insights on how to improve our weekend services.

Vi tilbyr

• The position is a condensed work week – so you get 3 days off. Working week is 40 hrs between Friday – Monday

• Position is a weekend position and we work through Christmas

• The rate starts from NOK220 and can be negotiated depending on the number of years of experience you have, knowledge of laws and how much training and supervision you require.

• Red days are paid in accordance to Norwegian law.

• You can have 1 week of unpaid vacation leave during the season but needs be agreed in advance.
