About the position
A 50 % position as head engineer is available at The Department of Physics. The end date of the position is December 10, 2025.
The candidate must be able to start at short notice, and no later than May 15.
Job description
The position is organized under the Section of Biophysics and Medical Physics (BMF). The research at BMF is mainly experimental and the section operates a number of highly specialized laboratories with advanced equipment. The main activities are focused around: 1) Cell laboratories including a flow cytometer, hypoxia stations with advanced biosensors, and a confocal microscope. In addition, the section operates two X-ray facilities and a beamline setup for proton irradiation of cells at Oslo Cyclotron Laboratory.
The appointed engineer will:
- Be responsible for the operation, maintenance of the laboratories and technical equipment at BMF
- Be responsible for maintaining stock cell cultures and lab routines
- Be responsible for training of master students and new employees in laboratory work
Qualifications
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in life sciences
- Experience with cell cultivation and operation of a cell laboratory
- Experience with training of students and staff in laboratory work
