Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Fullstack)

Are you a full-stack developer hungry for a challenge that truly matters? Imagine shaping the future of sustainable banking and real estate at an early-stage startup where your code isn’t just code – it’s a catalyst for change. At Netto, we’re on a mission to empower banks to guide their real estate customers toward greener, more energy-efficient buildings. Now, we’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our ambitious team and take ownership of building the platform that makes it all happen.

About Us

We are an ambitious, pre-seed funded startup currently participating in the DNB NXT accelerator program. Our mission is to empower banks to guide their real estate customers toward greener, more energy-efficient buildings. By leveraging technology and innovation, we aim to become the platform of choice for supporting the green transition in real estate.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and shaping our core platform. This is a high-impact opportunity where you’ll take ownership of critical features, from concept to implementation, in a backend or full-stack capacity.

We use Kotlin for our backend, Next.js for our frontend, and rely on PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB for data storage and analysis. For identity and access management, we integrate with Auth0, and our infrastructure is primarily built on Amazon ECS and defined using Pulumi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin, with a focus on performance and scalability.

  • Contribute to or lead full-stack development with our Next.js frontend.

  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries for PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB.

  • Implement and manage authentication and authorization workflows using Auth0.

  • Deploy and monitor services in Amazon ECS, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

  • Define and automate infrastructure using Pulumi.

  • Collaborate on product design, architecture, and roadmap planning to align with the company’s vision.

  • Establish and promote best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Track record of professional experience in software development.

  • Strong backend development skills, preferably with Kotlin or the willingness to learn.

  • Experience with frontend frameworks, particularly Next.js.

  • Expertise in relational databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL (experience with TimescaleDB is a plus).

  • Familiarity with containerized deployments, particularly using Amazon ECS.

  • Hands-on experience with identity platforms like Auth0 or similar.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in early-stage startups.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Pulumi or Terraform.

  • Knowledge of bank or real estate industries.

  • Exposure to time-series databases.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package: Salary + Equity (we’re building this together!).

  • The chance to join an early-stage startup and have a direct impact on the company’s growth and success.

  • Flexible working environment (office-based with room for flexibility).

  • Opportunities for growth and development as we scale.

  • The satisfaction of contributing to a mission that drives positive environmental change.
