Researcher

This is a one year part-time position as a researcher in the stem cell lab.

Our team specializes in reprogramming human fibroblasts/PBMCs into iPSCs using Nobel Prize-winning technology. We leverage the latest genome editing techniques to generate SNPs in healthy iPSCs, correct disease-causing mutations, and create knock-outs, knock-ins, and reporter iPSCs. To model diseases, we differentiate iPSCs into various cell types including neurons, cardiomyocytes, microglia, and more. If this excites you, we invite you to apply for our 50% researcher position.

Akershus University Hospital HF is a workplace with great diversity. This is a clear strength and crucial for addressing our many tasks in patient care, patient follow-up, research, and teaching. Therefore, we also welcome a diversity of applicants for available positions and encourage all qualified individuals to apply, regardless of identity and background. The employer reserves the right to change the workplace, tasks, and areas of responsibility as needed.

Subject Areas: Molecular biology, Cell biology.

Methods: Cell culture, basic molecular biology techniques (including Western blotting, PCR, and qPCR), microscopy.

Our projects primarily focus on neurodegenerative diseases, and we will soon begin working on albinism iPSCs also. Utilizing our dedicated stem cell facility, we culture iPSCs and edit them using lab-optimized genome editing protocols. These edited cell lines and differentiated cell types will undergo downstream processing, including Western blotting, qRT-PCR, and microscopy at Epigen department, where we have all the required infrastructure available for our research.
