Norway, Northern Norway, and Narvik are set to host the Alpine Skiing World Championships in 2029. To ensure the success of this event, we need someone to coordinate our hosting efforts. We are looking for Leadership and Coordination of the Municipality’s Hosting Role.

• Experience with managing large projects and a proven track record of success.

• Relevant education is preferred.

Arbeidsoppgaver

This position will work directly with Narvik Municipality's leadership team and the World Championships organization.

The tasks are many and exciting. Your role will be to ensure that our residents and businesses are ready to showcase Narvik at its best, delivering excellent hospitality and service. You will identify what needs to be done, create a plan, and execute it. You have the ability to build networks, prepare events, and understand what it takes to create a vibrant and memorable community celebration. You will have the support of all of Northern Norway, but we need your enthusiasm and expertise to make it happen.

In addition to setting your own goals, you will help accomplish the following:

• Ensure collaboration between Narvik Municipality and the World Championships organization.

• Facilitate excellent hosting and service standards.

• Contribute to decisions regarding capacity planning for audiences.

• Assist in developing solutions for infrastructure and accommodation.

• Support spin-offs and business development opportunities.

• Help create sustainable, long-term solutions for post-event use.

• Contribute to organizing both small and large events leading up to the World Championships in 2029.

• Plan and support logistics before and during the event.

• Generate excitement and enthusiasm in Narvik, Northern Norway, and across the country.
