Lead Advanced Marine Projects and Drive Technological Innovation at Kongsberg Maritime
Our core mission is to lead projects involving integrated system deliveries, ensuring that all technical work and customer interactions are managed efficiently and in full compliance with specifications. A key challenge in this role is balancing the technical complexities and client requirements while maintaining seamless execution. To support this mission, we are hiring a Senior Engineer with a long track record within the oil and gas industry.

About the Role
As a Senior Engineer, you will work on technical delivery projects within the offshore energy and maritime industry, contributing through engineering, design, and close collaboration with subcontractors to enable safer and more sustainable vessel operations. Your primary focus will be on subsea and topside system integration.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of system responsibility across all projects
- Engaging in discussions with suppliers
- Working on technical solutions and documentation
- Managing both hardware and software, including their interfaces
- Handling communication protocols
- Technical lead for subsea-related project deliveries
- Supporting and overseeing offshore personnel
- Assessing power consumption, cabling, and equipment specifications
- Work closely with internal expert to further develop our technology deliveries
- Contributing to product development and the design of proprietary solutions
Who We Are Looking For
We believe that the ideal candidate for this role is responsible, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of systems while following projects from inception to completion. A strong understanding of both hardware and software is essential, along with expertise in communication protocols and subsea technologies.
You should be a problem solver who can quickly identify and resolve data and technical challenges. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers and colleagues, as well as overseeing offshore teams. Additionally, we value creativity and flexibility in product development and innovation, along with a hands-on approach to implementing technological solutions and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in system responsibility and participation across all project phases
- Strong competency in technical solutions and documentation, particularly related to subsea and topside sensors
- Proficiency in both hardware (mechanical aspects) and communication protocols, with an understanding of software interfaces
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting and data processing
- Background in the supplier industry, ideally with instrumentation experience
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers and oversee offshore operations
- Interest in product development and engineering documentation
- Independent and proactive mindset, with the ability to manage multiple assessments and decisions
- Subsea stack/ BOP Drilling specific knowledge is an advantage
