COSL Drilling Europe, a safe and efficient drilling contractor dedicated to delivering on the energy transition with its cutting-edge, low-emission drilling rigs, is currently seeking skilled and motivated Rig Medics to join our team.

By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.

Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.
 

The Rig Medics tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:

  • Responsible for emergency medicine readiness and treatment.
  • Medical prevention and treatment of sudden and/or critically ill or injured persons in cooperation with doctor on duty.
  • Be in charge of training of First Aid Teams and other medical emergency preparedness onboard (SAR/Heliguard).
  • Take an active role (in cooperation with Company Health Service) to help protect and promote the health and safety of employees from hazards that may arise from the workplace environment and the industrial activities in an offshore environment.
  • Perform health monitoring of exposed personnel, based on a risk assessment, document and report findings for follow-up (in cooperation with Company Health Service)
  • Perform physical testing of smoke diver personnel as required.
  • Monitor and inspect quality of drinking water, hygiene, provision and food (including taking samples for analysis).
  • Responsible for control, maintenance and supply of medical equipment and medications.
  • Perform inspections of rescue equipment regarding placement, stock and quality.
  • Assist management and Safety Delegates on rig regarding health & working environment issues and regularly visit and inspect working areas.
  • Assist Company Health Service with descriptive studies of occupational health.
  • Assist QHSE director on QHSE related issues.
  • Responsible for keeping and updating the rigs Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow-up of chemicals control-system.
  • Carry out general administrative work as directed by OIM, as long as they do not interfere with regular assignments
  • Responsible for allocation of cabins, tracking of POB traffic and daily maintenance and updates of POB lists.
  • Reporting tasks according to Company procedures.
  • Participate in working environment chartings carried out onboard when requested. 

 

Suitable applicants should ideally have:

  • Passed a University Diploma as a registered Nurse
  • Relevant experience

COSL Drilling Europe was established in 2005, and has its head office located in Stavanger, Norway. Today we operate four modern drilling units. We have a solid owner with stable ratings in China Oilfield Services Limited, listed at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with ambitions to strengthen its foothold in the North Sea.

Our four semi-submersible drilling rigs were delivered from the yard respectively in November 2010 (COSLPioneer), November 2011 (COSLInnovator), May 2012 (COSLPromoter) and November 2014 (COSLProspector). The first drilling operations started in Norway in August 2011 and COSL Drilling Europe has since then been in continuous operation drilling and completing wells in Norway, UK, Faroe Islands and New Zealand.

The drilling units are of a similar design and have all proven strong and consistent performance deliveries.
