Instructor
We are seeking a highly skilled, self-driven and curios person to join our team as an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Instructor. As an Instructor, you will play a vital role in developing courses, training and preparing personnel to become proficient operators, enabling them to operate our state-of-the-art autonomous and uncrewed vehicles, safe and effectively.
Hugin AUV is a part of Kongsberg Discovery’s Uncrewed Platforms (UP) carrying highly sophisticated sensors for exploring the ocean.
You will be part of the division Customer Services which is responsible for Kongsberg Discovery’s services, upgrades, support and trainings. You will be working closely with the UP product and sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to teach personnel the skills required to operate, data process and maintain AUVs safely and efficiently.
- Design and implement training modules, including theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and simulations.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions in various environments, mainly in Horten, but occasionally on site with our customers.
- Stay up to date with advancements in AUV technology, best practices, and industry trends, incorporating them into training programs.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to further improve our products based on customer feedback and own experience.
We think you should have
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, marine science relevant or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with AUV operation is desirable, but not a requirement.
- Knowledge of AUV systems, including navigation, maintenance, data collection, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing training needs.
- Prior experience in instructional design or training development is a plus.
