Engineer

At the Research Institute for Internal Medicine (RIIM), Division of Surgery, Inflammatory Diseases and Transplantation, Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet, there is a one 1-years position available as lab engineer in Professor Bente Halvorsen research group, with a possibility for extension. The position is externally funded.

Duties and responsibilities 

The applicant will be working within cardiometabolic disorders in Professor Bente Halvorsen research group.

The candidate will be working on preparing clinical and/or pre-clinical samples for downstream cell- and molecular biology methods, histological analysis and biobanking

Qualification 

The applicant must have a MSc or corresponding qualifications.

The successful candidate must document active and independent lab work.

The successful candidate must document experience in a variety of advanced molecular biological methods.

It is an advantage if the candidate has experience with animal work and all formal approvals for work in the animal facility. 

Favourable skills include: DNA/RNA and protein isolation, culturing of primary cell cultures and cell lines, preparation of histological samples (FFPE and cryo), and routine analysis of biological samples (i.e. biomarker analysis) using ELISA, MSD-platform, western blotting, qPCR, genotyping PCR etc.
