Embedded Software Developer
🚀 Embedded Software Developer – Build the Future of Intelligent Machine Safety
📍 Oslo (Hybrid/Remote for the right candidate) | 💡 Early-stage AI Startup | 🦺 AI-Powered Safety Tech
🔍 Enabling Safer, Smarter Machines
We are building an AI-powered safety system that helps operators make split-second decisions in hazardous environments. By seamlessly integrating real-time sensor data, AI perception, and intuitive feedback, we aim to transform human-machine interaction in high-risk industries.
As an Embedded Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing the decision and response systems that power real-time hazard detection and alerts. You will work at the intersection of embedded computing, AI integration, and machine interface design, ensuring performance, reliability, and seamless user experience on rugged hardware platforms.
💡 This is an opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up. Join early and help shape the software, architecture, and engineering culture of a high-impact startup.
🎯 Your Role
• Develop and optimize real-time decision-making and alerting subsystems for excavator operators.
• Integrate sensor data, AI models, and other software modules into an efficient embedded system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware-software interactions, resource constraints, and system performance issues.
• Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and qualification of software across varied operating conditions.
• Ensure maintainability and reliability through structured development, coding standards, and automation.
🔍 Who You Are
• Background in software, computer, or electrical engineering (or related fields).
• Proficient in C/C++ and/or Rust, with experience developing production-ready embedded systems.
• Strong in debugging, profiling, and optimizing edge devices for responsiveness and resource efficiency.
• Comfortable working across Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.
• Passionate about high-integrity embedded systems with a product-oriented mindset.
• Curious, hands-on, and eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.
💡 Bonus if you have:
• Experience with real-time HMIs using Qt, Flutter, or Slint.
• Familiarity with microelectronics, PCB design, or FPGA development.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth).
• Exposure to signal processing, computer vision, or AI on edge devices.
• Prior work in automotive, robotics, or industrial automation.
🚀 Why Join Us?
• Shape the future of machine safety. Your software will enable seamless human-machine collaboration in high-risk environments.
• Own and define the system architecture. You’ll have a direct hand in building a cutting-edge embedded platform.
• Tackle complex technical challenges. From AI integration to real-time computing, this role offers deep technical learning.
• Hybrid/Remote Flexibility. Work from Oslo or remotely within Europe.
• Equity and long-term upside. Your contributions will be rewarded as we scale.
