Are you a passionate Mechanical Engineer with a drive for innovation?
AutoStore is the pioneer of robotic cube storage systems and is constantly evolving as a company. We are changing the way goods and services are stored across the globe, and are pushing borders to increase efficiency, safety and develop new products for our customers.
We are now looking for a curious and solution-oriented Mechanical Engineer. You will be joining a team of Mechanical Engineers and work closely with committed and skilled colleagues across different locations, projects and disciplines. As a Mechanical Engineer in our team, you will have varied tasks in an environment that values each individual's contribution and development.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
As a Mechanical Engineer you will contribute to the development of our products in line with the market trends. You will work closely with product owners and R&D resources to develop and enhance existing products.
Your responsibilities will also include
- Participate to deliver products with a high focus on quality
- Design of components and sub-systems to requirement specifications from concept to production
- Collaboration with suppliers during product development phase
- Collaboration with internal departments (purchasing, production, test, compliance) throughout concept, development, and production set-up phases
YOUR PROFILE
For this role, we are looking for someone with a few years of experience and an eagerness to learn and develop their skills. In order to thrive in this role, we believe you are familiar with mechanical principles, and are motivated by contributing to finding the best solutions across projects and disciplines. You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You have a practical mind-set and a willingness to get “hands-on” and participate in the assembly and testing of prototypes.
It is also preferable that you have
- Strong Design & Engineering Foundation: Higher education in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field coupled with practical experience in mechanical design optimized for manufacturing, assembly, service, and mass production. Proficiency in 3D CAD, 2D documentation, tolerance analysis, FEA, and FMEA simulations/analysis. Knowledge about and practical experience with ISO GPS.
- Product Development Knowledge: Good experience in research and development of new products, including prototyping, collaborating with external partners, and preparing documentation and manuals. Experience with designing parts for sheet metal stamping, aluminum die casting and/or injection molding manufacturing processes and an understanding and experience with design for assembly (DfA) and design for manufacturing (DfM).
- Testing and Validation: Knowledge of product and material approval testing, including designing, setting up, and using test equipment. Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, continuous product improvement and issue resolution during testing.

You will be reporting to the R&D Manager Mechanics in Nedre Vats or Oslo, depending on which location you will be working from.
