About the job
The Adjunct Associate Professor (førsteamanuensis II) position has a full-time equivalence of 20% and has a fixed term of up to 3 years with the possibility of employment for further periods.
The bachelor in Informatics (BIT) at NTNU (https://www.ntnu.no/studier/bit) is a practice-oriented program designed to develop skills in programming and learn to create user-friendly computer systems. Students learn about informatics from a technical, human, and societal perspective. One of the mandatory courses during the last semester is IT2901, Informatics Projects II (https://www.ntnu.no/studier/emner/IT2901#tab=omEmnet). Projects are proposed by external actors from industry, start-ups, non-governmental organizations, and research organizations. In the course, students develop applied skills in software engineering as well as specific skills about programming languages and tools depending on the specific project they work with. For this course, we need a co-responsible teacher.
Your immediate leader is the unit leader of Information Systems and Software Engineering.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate, together with the course responsible, the course IT2901, Informatics Project II, including collecting projects from external actors.
• Plan and conduct the examination together with assistants and external evaluators.
• Train and coordinate the group supervisors.
• Supervise students’ groups.
• Contribute to the continuous evaluation and improvement of the course.
• Supervision of master projects.
Required selection criteria
Adjunct Associate Professor (førsteamanuensis II):
The position of Adjunct Associate Professor within the area of applied software engineering requires that you meet the criteria in the Regulations concerning appointment and promotion to teaching and research posts section 1-2.
• Your PhD, or academic work of the same scope and quality, must be within Computer Science. You must document relevant basic competence for teaching and supervision at university/higher education-level, ref. Regulations. If this cannot be documented, you are required to complete an approved course in university teaching (1 module = 20 hours) within two years of commencement. NTNU offers qualifying courses.

• Knowledge and experience of project management for the industry
• Familiarity with the main programming languages

Salary and conditions
Adjunct Associate Professor ll (1011) you will normally be remunerated from gross NOK 695 000 to NOK 870 000 per year, corresponding with a 20% position, depending on qualifications and seniority. If you are eligible for membership at the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU. After the appointment you must assume that there may be changes in the area of work.

Joint work will also be considered. If it is difficult to identify your specific input to a joint project, you must include evidence of your contributions.
In the evaluation of which candidate is best qualified, emphasis will be placed on education, experience and personal and interpersonal qualities. Motivation, ambitions, and potential will also count in the assessment of the candidates.
NTNU is obliged by the evaluation criteria for research quality in accordance with The San Fransisco Declaration on Research Assessment – DORA. This means that we will pay particular attention to the quality and academic range demonstrated by your scientific work to date. We will also pay attention to research leadership and participation in research projects. Your scientific work from the last five years will be given the most weight.
Your application will be considered by an expert committee. Candidates of interest will be invited to an interview, and to deliver a trial teaching session.
